Our history

The company was founded in 1994, mainly at the time distributing Camel Collection and Camel Trophy, the two main branches of Camel Clothing for Greece and Cyprus. Until the end of the millennium the company had expanded to over 200 distinctive points of which 14 were exclusive Camel Stores and a few Outlets. The 2000’s brought a change in advertising regulations and so the Camel beast was forbidden due to smoking restrictions in Europe. The newly launched brand in 2001 was named Camel Active.
Straight away the company sold its distribution rights in Cyprus to concentrate on its core market. In 2002 Clothing Distributions took over the distribution rights for Camel Active Shoes and began expanding its Shop in a Shop presence at the country’s largest department stores. The unexpectedly heavy crisis that began in 2008 reshaped the retail market of Greece. During these tumultuous years, our company’s agility as well as the customer support towards the high quality products we distribute proved to be crucial in a positive way.
Since then, investments have been made in stand alone exclusive stores, FOC stores, agency and distribution of new brands and a clearance/filtering of our wholesale customer base.
In 2013 Clothing Distributions signed exclusive distribution rights for the new Camel Active Womenswear collections as well as exclusive dual distribution and agency rights with the Seidensticker Group of Germany, the largest men’s shirt maker in Europe. The year after, our company partnered with the American denim pioneer True Religion. Founded in 2002 by Jeffrey Lubell, True Religion specializes in high quality jeans and clothing with an authentic edge.
